The Fika Tech Career Academy is part of the wider initiative to provide meaningful career opportunities to communities of color and other groups who have been historically disconnected with equal opportunity in the tech sector.
The Academy is a 10 week program designed to take scholars through intensive work experiences in preparation for an internship.

We are looking for volunteer mentors to support 4-5 interns throughout 9-weeks of the 10-week Academy both during live sessions and over Slack for about an hour a week starting 9/22.

Any IT-Related Tech Career!
This person could be interested in providing open and honest feedback to students as they work through projects and Certificates in the IT and Cyber Security space. Experience with Microsoft technology is also a plus! -
Description
Santa Monica College is hosting a panel where professionals can share industry knowledge with 50 community college students. This event will be held virtually and will be held on September 29th from 6pm-7:30pm PST and again in December (date TBD).
About
Speakers will bring junior level portfolios that exemplify the work they need to see to hire entry level positions. Please bring at least 2 examples to share. Speakers can expect to give an explicit walk through of what you would like/expect to see during an interview, advice on applying for jobs in Web Development and any other relevant topics related to these opportunities.
The audience will be faculty members of Santa Monica College and roughly 50 students taking the following classes:HTML5, CSS3, AND ACCESSIBILITY
